Michael W. Blacksburg

Michael W. Blacksburg became of counsel to The Sheppard • Rosen Law Firm in 2004. Michael's practice emphasizes landlord-tenant law, business law, corporate transactions, estate planning and injury cases.

Michael previously worked as an associate attorney with Beeson, Tayer & Bodine, a labor firm representing unions and workers. While at Beeson Tayer & Bodine, he represented teachers and members of the Teamsters Union throughout the Bay Area.

Michael is an experienced litigator/advocate/negotiator in the fields of landlord-tenant law, rent control law, health, education and employment law. Michael regularly works on complex business transactions, litigation, and estate planning.

Michael received an award for "Outstanding Volunteer in Public Service" in 2002 and 2003 for his service to Bay Area tenants. Michael also volunteers legal services to the San Francisco AIDS Legal Referral Panel and to the Volunteer Legal Services Program of the Bar Association of San Francisco.

Michael received his law degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 2001. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1996. Michael's past professional endeavors include being a business entrepreneur and a small business owner. He is also a world traveler, an Eagle Scout, and a member of the Burning Man community.
