Lawrence (“Larry”) Sussman is Senior Counsel at the Sheppard-Uziel Law Firm, specializing in business transactions, general business law, real estate, neighbor disputes, easements, boundary disputes, partitions, construction, contract, tort claims, and general landlord-tenant law. Larry has extensive transactional experience spanning several decades. He has also conducted bench trials and jury trials, handled civil appeals and San Francisco Rent Board petitions, and has resolved numerous cases through arbitration and mediation.
Larry is a 1983 graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he was on the Moot Court Board and served as a Moot Court instructor, and has been actively practicing law in the Bay Area since 1983.
Larry received his B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and he has an M.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Larry has handled thousands of real estate, construction, contract, and tort claims throughout the Bay Area, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Larry is highly respected by his clients, the courts, and his adversaries for his knowledge, experience, negotiating skills, and congenial style of dispute resolution. Larry represents clients in a broad range of real estate related matters, including real property purchases/sales, leases, partition of co-ownership interests, easement, boundary line and title disputes, landslides, real estate fraud, non-disclosure of material facts in transactions, landlord-tenant disputes, construction defects (representing homeowners, homeowner associations, and contractors) and a variety of breach of contract disputes. Larry was formerly a licensed real estate broker, and often represents parties in "For Sale by Owner" private real estate transactions.
Larry is a member and former Vice-Chair of the Real Property Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco.
